How sweet. My Mom and Stepdad were more of an "In Spite of Ourselves" couple. Speaking of orange juice cans... for a summer treat I would buy a can of Hawaiian Punch frozen concentrate and eat it right out of the can. My dentist loved it.
Ahhh! I remember that stuff! We never had it at our house, though, because my Mom was pretty strict about sugar. My half-sister would be climbing the walls without sugar when she visited in the summer. I remember her eating kids' toothpaste to get a sugar fix. : ) We used to juice right out of the can, too, straight-up orange juice, because it was kiiiiiiida like sorbet, if you thought about it the right way. I tried the lemonade once. Yikes! The memory still makes me gag. Maybe that's why TC likes sour beers, and I can't do 'em?
Because I am old, I find most things on TikTok improbable and beverage cans as curlers are no exception! OJ cans are totally doable because they were/are cardboard and have some "teeth" for hair to stick to and also have an open end to pin. But a Coke can? Slippery as hell and nowhere to secure the hair to it! I absolutely remember my sister using the OJ cans.
I've never done this, but I totally thought about the texture thing, too. Weirdly, you're supposed to stuff your hair inside the tin cans (???) with this newer technique, which seems like it'd be hell on hair cuticules, right? Anyway, when I looked this up, I was pretty delighted it was still going strong. For some reason the fact that kids are still using htis OG technique gave me some hope that maybe AI won't take over the world. : )
Just waded in. The truthful ones using that weird in the can method have pretty underwhelming results. The lying ones, where they cut to the part where they curl the hair with a curling iron, then stuff it into the can before the reveal, are way more prevalent. Oh TikTok, you never let me down!

Oh hell, Stef, you're going to make me look, on TikTok!
Yikes!! If you do tread into that dangerous territory .... let me know your thoughts!

Aie! I think I need to go see this for myself. That's kind of hilarious!
