Thanks! There are a lot of good stories in those spaces too. Apparently there was beatnik club near downtown SLC back in the 50s (!!!). I've been digging around trying to find some kind of documentation, but no luck so far. A Trib reader in his 90s sent me a note about it, and it only existed for a brief moment, so it may be lost down the memory hole. I don't know Ogden well, but I know there are some amazing stories there, too. This conversation reminds me that I need to post about Utah soon (though I guess this one is Utah-adjacent, since it has a Trent cameo?).
When I worked at CW, the owner would regale us with stories about the old clubs in downtown SL and in Copperton where he was raised. I can ask around; remind me on FB if/when you get around to it.
